We are asked many questions about our in utero foal program, and thought we should write up a section explaining what to expect, when expecting a foal from SFGH.
  1. We offer 3-4 foals a year...and are proud to offer them in utero.   It is possible to pick the Sire and the Dam of your in utero foal if she is not already bred yet.   We have even used outside stallions in our in utero program.   
  2. We also have the ability to look ahead for the upcoming 2-3 years and set up our contracts in advance to allow even longer payment plans.  ​
  3. Typically our in utero foal pricing begins at 6k and goes up based on Sire, Dam, Color Etc.   If you have a price range you are looking, please contact us and we can let you know which foal is in that price range.
  4. Typically we require $1000 down and a signed contact to determine an in utero foal sold.   Contract will state the buyers payment plan that they choose.
  5. We ultrasound at 18 days gestation to confirm pregnancy, ultrasound again at 25 days gestation to monitor health, then around 65 days for fetal sexing.    We do not offer any guarantees on the foals sex, unless we have signed a gender specific contract.  
  6. We provide all nutrition, vaccinations and broodmare management to ensure proper health of the mares and foals.  We monitor them very closely starting at 30 days before foaling.   We are present at the foaling, and often if the owner of the foal is located close enough they can attend the birth as well.   Our farm is open 24/7 to our clients.
  7. We stream the foaling using marestare, so if you are out of our area you can still be with us for the birth of your new foal.
  8. After your foal is born,  SFGH provides the Well Foal Check and your foal begins their education.   IF the foal is unhealthy, SFGH will offer refund, a different foal or the option to rebred the mare.   At 24 hours old, we do require the foal is covered under a mortality insurance plan.
  9. School starts as soon as the foal is born.   We imprint all foal at birth, and handle them daily. Halter trained, walking on a lead rope usually within the first few days to a week old.  We typically have them off the farm for events, shows, trail rides etc.  So the foals are in and out of our trailer.    They are ponied next to Dam while under saddle and pulling a cart.  We want our foals well rounded when they arrive to their family.   Ready to be started in any direction you decide.
  10. When buying in utero, it offers long term payment plans with no interest.   We wean our foals at 5-6 months so that would provide time for payment plans up to 14 months.   Payment plan varies for what works best for the buyer and the seller.  No cookie cutter contracts.  SFGH accepts credit cards and paypal.
  11. All our foals will be PSSM negative, as we will not breed any horses that are carriers.   Our personal choice.    Copies of all PSSM testing on our facebook and on our horses webpage. 
  12. Very Very rarely we have adult horses for sale, but we can assist you with finding the horse of your dreams.
